Unofficial Talks Begin on U.S.-Brokered Gaza Peace Plan

Published:

Foreign media reports say that unofficial discussions have begun in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, aimed at reaching a final agreement on the U.S.-proposed peace plan to end the ongoing war in Gaza.

According to reports, the Hamas movement has expressed partial agreement with the proposals but has yet to respond to several key conditions, including disarmament and the long-term administrative arrangements for the Gaza Strip.

In addition to representatives from both parties, U.S. President’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who is also the President’s son-in-law, are reportedly participating in the talks.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated last Saturday that an announcement regarding the release of hostages could be expected in the coming days.
