A total of 158,971 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka during the month of September, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
This marks an increase of 30.24% compared to the number of arrivals recorded in September last year.
India remained the top source market, contributing 49,697 tourists (31.3%) during the month. The United Kingdom accounted for 10,527 arrivals, China for 10,527, Germany for 9,344, and France for 5,144.
From January 1 to September 30, 2025, Sri Lanka has recorded a total of 1,725,494 tourist arrivals.
Of this total, 375,292 tourists arrived from India, 161,893 from the United Kingdom, and 122,144 from Russia, according to the SLTDA.
