The Department of Meteorology has forecast thundershowers in many parts of the island today (03) evening due to prevailing favorable atmospheric conditions.
According to the forecast, showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in several provinces after 1:00 p.m.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters is expected in certain areas of the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern Provinces.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
