Three people were killed and four others injured in a fatal accident that occurred early this morning (25) at Meegirigama Junction in Thalawa, along the Kurunegala–Anuradhapura main road, police said.
The accident took place when a lorry traveling from Anuradhapura towards Kurunegala collided head-on with a van heading in the opposite direction.
According to police, the deceased were passengers of the van. The injured, including both drivers, were admitted to Thalawa and Anuradhapura hospitals.
Investigations into the accident are currently underway.
