“Ali Roshan” Sentenced to 15 Years Rigorous Imprisonment

The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar has sentenced Samarappulige Niraj Roshan, popularly known as “Ali Roshan,” to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment after being found guilty on two counts of illegally keeping an elephant without a valid license.

In addition to the prison term, the accused was fined Rs. 2.06 million, and the court also ordered that the elephant in question be confiscated by the state.
