The Department of Meteorology announces that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, today (18).
Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm can be expected in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northern Provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers are also likely to occur in several other areas after around 1.00 p.m.
The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
