The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers can be expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.
According to the forecast, showers or thundershowers may also occur in parts of the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Hambantota District, particularly after 1.00 p.m.
Some locations may experience fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 mm.
Cloudy skies are expected over the Eastern, Uva, Central, and Southern provinces. The Department has urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
