Bill to Abolish Presidential Privileges Passed by Wide Majority

Parliament today (10) held the second reading debate on the Presidential Entitlements Abolition Bill.

During the vote, the Bill secured 151 votes in favour, with only one vote cast against it.

Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne announced to the House that the Bill was therefore passed with a majority of 150 votes.
