Former Navy Commander (Retired Admiral) Nishantha Ulugetenne, who was previously taken into custody, has been further remanded until September 24 by the Polgahawela Magistrate’s Court.
He was arrested on July 28 by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with an investigation into an abduction incident that had occurred in the Pothuhera area during his tenure as Director of Naval Intelligence.
The former Navy Commander, who had been under remand custody since his arrest, will remain in detention pending further investigations.
