The Department of Meteorology has announced that several spells of showers can be expected today (10) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva Provinces, and in the Mullaitivu District, particularly after 1.00 p.m.
The Department further noted that fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50 mm, may occur at some locations.
It has also urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning that could accompany thundershowers.
