A shooting incident was reported near the Maligawatta Police Station, targeting an employee of a three-wheeler spare parts shop.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, sustained injuries in the attack and has been admitted to hospital.
According to police, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle and carried out the shooting using a T-56 firearm.
