The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province, as well as in the Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, after around 2.00 p.m. today (26).
A few showers are also likely during the morning hours in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
Apart from these areas, mainly fair weather conditions are expected to prevail across most parts of the island.
The Department of Meteorology has requested the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning that could accompany thundershowers.
