Former President Ranil admitted to intensive care unit

The Acting Director of the Colombo National Hospital says that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe was referred to the Intensive Care Unit as specialist doctors decided that it was appropriate to keep him under close observation for the first 24 hours, taking into account his age and test results.

Accordingly, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was transferred from the Prison Hospital to the Emergency Treatment Unit of the Colombo National Hospital due to an illness, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for treatment.

A spokesperson said that Ranil Wickremesinghe was transferred to the intensive care unit due to high blood pressure and sugar levels, extreme fatigue, and fatigue.
