Several online services operated by state institutions have been temporarily affected due to a technical malfunction in the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) service.
Among the affected services are:
- The Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD) certificate issuance system of the Registrar General’s Department,
- The online revenue license system (eRL 2.0) of Provincial Departments of Motor Traffic (except the Western Province),
- The Police Clearance Certificate system of the Sri Lanka Police,
- The Certificate of Origin issuance system of the Department of Commerce,
- The pension management system of the Department of Pensions,
- The e-Local Government system, and
- Websites of several institutions including the Department of Meteorology, Department of the Registrar of Companies, and the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB).
Engineers from the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), along with service providers, are currently working to restore the affected cloud services as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Registrar General’s Department announced that certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates can still be obtained manually from the respective Divisional Secretariat offices where the original certificates were issued, even without online system support.
