Mediators are set to meet with representatives from Hamas and Israel for renewed peace talks aimed at ending the ongoing Gaza conflict, according to foreign media reports.
U.S. President Donald Trump, posting on his Truth Social account, stated that “all parties involved in efforts to end the Gaza war must move forward swiftly.”
The talks are expected to commence following Hamas’s partial agreement to certain elements of the U.S.-proposed peace plan, which includes the release of hostages and the transfer of Gaza’s administrative control to Palestinian technical teams.
President Trump added that the negotiations are progressing positively and emphasized that the first phase should be completed within this week, urging all sides to act promptly.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Hamas, led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya, has reportedly arrived in Egypt for discussions focused on achieving a ceasefire.
This marks al-Hayya’s first visit to Egypt since surviving an Israeli strike in Doha, Qatar, last month.
