Veteran Sri Lankan actor Nalin Pradeep Udawela passed away this morning (23) while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama. He was 56 years old at the time of his death and is survived by two children.
Udawela was a highly respected artist who showcased his talent across stage drama, cinema, and television, earning widespread admiration from audiences.
He made notable contributions to numerous stage plays, including Juriya, Kelani Palama, Modara Mola, and Suddek Oba Amathai.
On television, his performances spanned a wide range of popular teledramas such as Akuru Meki Naa, Aparna, Batti, Ath Kanda Lihini, Isuru Pawura, Kasi Salu, Monaravila, Nisal Vila, Sudu Hamine, and Suwanda Padma.
Udawela’s remarkable talent earned him several awards, with acclaimed performances in productions such as Nisal Vila, Tharaka Mal, and Asai Man Piyabanna. His role in the film Sheshe further elevated his popularity, drawing significant audience recognition.
