Court Orders Detention and Interrogation of Lorry Owner in Tangalle Drug Haul

The Mount Lavinia Magistrate, Pasan Amarasekara, has ordered police to detain and interrogate the owner of a lorry seized with heroin and crystal methamphetamine in the Seenimodara area of Tangalle. The suspect is to be held until September 29 for further questioning.

Police reported that the suspect, a resident of Ratmalana, was arrested by officers of the Police Special Task Force. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of 11 grams and 140 milligrams of heroin.

The lorry in question had been discovered on Sunday (22) near a house in Seenimodara, where the bodies of two individuals were recently found. The vehicle was allegedly used to conceal narcotics.

The suspect has since been produced before the Mount Lavinia Police for further investigations.
