President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will undertake an official visit to Japan from September 27 to 30, following an invitation extended by the Government of Japan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the visit the President is scheduled to meet with the Emperor of Japan. He will also hold bilateral discussions with the Japanese Prime Minister, focusing on several matters of mutual importance.
The President is further expected to address a business forum in Tokyo, which will bring together leading Japanese entrepreneurs and investors, with discussions centered on Sri Lanka’s growing economic opportunities.
In addition, President Dissanayake will participate in Expo 2025 Osaka, where he has been invited by the Government of Japan to attend Sri Lanka Day as a special guest.
The President will also meet with members of the Sri Lankan community residing in Japan during this visit, the Ministry confirmed.
President Dissanayake will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Mr. Vijitha Herath, along with a delegation of senior government officials.
