The Ministry of Power and Energy announced that the process of assigning employees to four newly established, fully state-owned companies under the Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment) Act has commenced.
According to reports, a number of employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) have expressed their willingness to be attached to the newly formed entities and have formally submitted letters of consent.
This morning (22), employees handed over their consent letters to the Chairman of the CEB, Prof. Udayanga Hemapala, at the CEB headquarters.
In line with the Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment) Act No. 14 of 2025, the following four companies have been established:
- National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd.
- National Transmission and Network Services (Pvt) Ltd.
- Lanka Electricity Distribution (Pvt) Ltd.
- Lanka Power Generation (Pvt) Ltd.
The Ministry confirmed that selected CEB employees will now be officially attached to these companies in accordance with the new reforms.
