Nepal’s interim Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, has dissolved the country’s parliament shortly after assuming office.
Karki, a former Chief Justice, was sworn in on Thursday night (12) as Nepal’s first female Prime Minister. Following her swearing-in ceremony, she announced the dissolution of parliament.
According to the announcement, parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on March 21 next year.
Meanwhile, the interim cabinet appointed for a six-month period until the elections is expected to be sworn in today (13).
