The fire that broke out at the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery has been fully brought under control by this morning.
The blaze erupted last night (10) in a storage tank undergoing renovation work, and firefighting teams worked for several hours to contain it.
A total of seven fire engines from the Colombo Fire Brigade, along with several other firefighting units, were deployed to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the incident has not yet been determined. A site inspection is scheduled to be conducted today (11).
