A stock of chemicals similar to those reportedly used in the production of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice,” was discovered in a house in the Kadawatha area.
This follows the recent discovery in Middeniya of chemicals suspected to be linked to the production of the same narcotic substance.
Meanwhile, police yesterday uncovered over 5,000 kilograms of chemicals on an abandoned plot of land in the Tangalle–Netolpitiya area.
Authorities suspect that the chemicals found in Tangalle may be connected to those recovered earlier in Middeniya. Investigations are currently underway.
