Former Member of Parliament Nimal Lanza, who was in remand custody, has been released on bail.
He was arrested recently by the Kochchikade Police in connection with an incident that had taken place in 2006 and was subsequently produced before court, which ordered his remand.
Accordingly, the Negombo High Court today (07) ordered his release on bail.
