A stock of chemicals suspected to be used in the production of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) was discovered this morning (07) on a property in the Netolpitiya area of Tangalle.
According to police, the raid was carried out by officers from the Tangalle Police Station following information received from residents. The search was conducted at a land located near the Walivanna Cross Road in Netolpitiya.
During the operation, police recovered a stock of white-colored chemical substances, suspected to be precursor chemicals used in the production of crystal meth.
Authorities further stated that the seized chemicals are believed to be similar to those found yesterday (06) during an inspection of a property in the Middeniya–Thalawa area, which were also suspected to be used in the production of ice.
