With this, a total of 239 complete human skeletons have been identified from 240 sets of skeletal remains unearthed so far, according to reports.
The excavations, which lasted 45 days, were carried out with funds allocated through the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court by the Ministry of Justice and National Integration.
The related court case is scheduled to be taken up on September 18, when the Ministry of Justice and National Integration is expected to submit a report on financial provisions required for the next phase of excavations.
