Royal College, Colombo emerged victorious in the 79th edition of the Bradby Shield Encounter, defeating Trinity College, Kandy on aggregate to secure the prestigious rugby title.
The annual two-leg rugby encounter between the two leading schools concluded today (6th September) with the second leg held at the Royal College Sports Complex in Colombo.
Although Royal College lost the second leg 8-3 to Trinity College, their dominant performance in the first leg, held earlier at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Kandy, secured them an overall win. In that game, Royal defeated Trinity 15-5.
With an aggregate score of 18-13 across both legs, Royal College successfully claimed the Bradby Shield for the 79th time, reaffirming their place as a powerhouse in Sri Lankan school rugby.
