The Department of Meteorology states that a few showers may occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya.
In addition, a few showers or thundershowers are likely at some places in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Monaragala districts after around 2.00 p.m.
Elsewhere, mainly fair and dry weather will prevail across the island. However, strong winds at times, reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h, can be expected in the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces, and in the Hambantota district.
