90-Day Detention Order Issued for Kehelbaddara Padme and Four Others

Five leading members of a notorious criminal gang, who were arrested in Indonesia and brought back to Sri Lanka, have been placed under 90-day detention orders for interrogation.

According to reports, three suspects are currently being held under the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while the remaining two are detained under the Western Province North Crimes Division.

The CID confirmed that statements from the suspects are being recorded under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

Among those in CID custody are:Mandinu Padmasiri Perera, alias Kehelbaddara Padme, Nilantha Sampath Silva, alias Panadura Nilantha, Shalinda Madushan Perera, alias Commando Salintha

Meanwhile, the other two suspects held under the Western Province North Crimes Division are:Lahiru Madusanka, alias Tembili Lahiru, N.N. Prasanga, alias Beko Saman
