It is reported that Kalutara North Police OIC Chief Inspector Thushara Silva was involved in a collision with a van while on special operations duty.
Kalutara North Police said that he had collided with a van while travelling from Panadura towards Kalutara in the Wadiyamankada area in Waskaduwa last night (22).
The OIC who was injured in the accident has been transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.
It is stated that the van has been taken into police custody and the driver has been arrested.
