Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa arrived at Magazine Prison at around 9.30 this morning (23) to check on the well-being of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is admitted to the prison hospital.
Meanwhile, following the remand of Ranil Wickremesinghe, a group of supporters including former ministers Duminda Dissanayake, Prasanna Ranatunga and Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath arrived at the New Magazine Prison last night (22).
They arrived at the prison but were not allowed to enter, and then remained outside the prison.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday (22) ordered that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department and produced before the court, be remanded until the 26th.
