The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement stating that several spells of rain are likely to occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The statement states that there may be some light rain in the Northwestern Province.
The rest of the island will experience mainly rainless weather conditions.
The statement further states that strong winds of about (40-50) kmph are likely to occur at times in the western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces and the Trincomalee district.
