One dead, 22 hospitalized after two buses collide in Monaragala

An accident occurred this morning (16) when a SLTB bus travelling from Dambagalla towards Monaragala collided with a private bus carrying pilgrims coming from the opposite direction near the 255th kilometer mark on the Monaragala-Pottuvil-Wellawaya main road.

Police say that the driver of the SLTB bus that was involved in the accident has died after being admitted to the hospital.

Around 22 passengers travelling in the two buses were injured in the accident and have been admitted to the Monaragala Hospital.
