A new train called the Ella Weekend Express began operating today to facilitate local and foreign tourists during the weekend.
There is a strong demand from local and foreign tourists to travel by train from Colombo to Badulla, enjoying the natural beauty.
Accordingly, steps have been taken to operate a new train on weekends called the Ella Weekend Express.
Starting today, this train will travel from Colombo Fort to Badulla every Saturday at 5.30 am.
The Railway Department stated that the train will depart from Badulla at 1.45 pm the next day and travel to Colombo.
