Thirty-two senior police officers, including nine Deputy Inspector Generals and 16 Senior Superintendents of Police, have been transferred with immediate effect.
That is with the approval of the National Police Commission.
According to these transfers, Nihal Thalduwa, who was serving as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Central Crime Investigation Bureau, has been transferred as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Monaragala District.
In addition, 16 staff officers of the Prisons Department have also been granted temporary transfers effective from July 2nd.
It is stated that these transfers have been made with the approval of the Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and National Integration with the aim of streamlining the institutional administrative activities of the Prisons Department based on the seniority and service requirements of the officers.
Accordingly, the Prison Headquarters stated that transfers have been granted to two Special Prison Superintendents, a Prison Superintendent and 13 Assistant Prison Superintendents.
