The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to increase electricity tariffs by an overall 15% for the second half of 2025.
This will be effective from tomorrow (12).
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka announced this at a special media briefing.
Mr. Jayanath Herath states that there has been no change in this year’s electricity tariff revision for small consumption and religious places with less than 90 units.
Also, there has been an 8% increase in the domestic sector categories with less than 30 units, and accordingly, the monthly fee, which was Rs. 75, will become Rs. 80 from midnight today.
